Womanhood

It’s in the care of her hands,

The worry in her eyes,

The strength in her back,

And the ego in her mind.

What defines a woman –

Not her man, not her plight.

Just a drop of blood, once taken, never to be returned

Inked in her forehead to remind her yet again

That her life can never be hers.
