Albert Einstein’s 1954 letter about God to German philosopher Eric Gutkind, written a year before his death has sold for nearly $2.9 million at a New York auction. “The word God is for me nothing but the expression and product of human weaknesses,” Einstein wrote. The one-and-a-half page letter in German fetched nearly double the predicted price of $1.5 million.
